An Unholy Route (Una Ruta Nada Santa: De San Salvador a San Fernando, 2011,) a documentary on the August 2010 massacre in Tamaulipas, Mexico of 72 immigrants on their way from Central America to the United States, had its New York premiere at Columbia Journalism School.

The event was coordinated by CU-NAHJ for the documentary screening series “The Reel Latin America.”

Héctor Hugo Jiménez, editor-in-chief of Hora Cero newspaper in Mexico and the film’s director, joined us for a Q&A after the screening.

The premiere of An Unholy Route captured the attention of the Hispanic media, with interviews to Mr. Jiménez for CNN en Español, Telemundo47 and NY1 (TimeWarner). Hora Cero also promoted the event on its website.

Here’s the interview with Mr. Héctor Hugo Jiménez and Sandro Mairata, speaker’s coordinator from CU-NAHJ, and coordinator of our documentary screening series.

Thanks to everyone involved!
